Auchterhousev Hall

 

Auchterhouse Parish Hall consists of two separate halls plus toilets for ladies, gents and the disabled.

The smaller hall has within it cooking facilities for the use of the public and an enclosed kitchen which is used by the school. There are tables and chairs to cater for all the community requirements.

The maximum attendance allowed is 80 adults.

The Hall Management Committee has sole authority for the letting of the hall to community organisations and the public. In addition to the Hall the enclosed kitchen can be booked for functions – for a small extra charge.

The role of the committee is to manage the Hall for the good of the community by maintaining the interior of the premises (internal decoration, heating, lighting and cleanliness), providing furniture, applying fair letting charges and controlling lettings.

The committee is made up of a representative of each local organisation plus the parish minister, the school headmaster and up to six representatives of the public.

Business meetings are held three times each year: January, April and September. The April meeting is open to the public.

The 200 Club

Hello Folks,

Our hall 200 club has been on the go for 14 years now and has successfully provided funds for the running of the hall in a fairly painless way. A new session is due to start at the end of the month but before then I would like to give residents, who are not members, the opportunity of joining.

One number in the club costs £5 per year and members can subscribe to as many numbers as they wish. The total of all subscriptions is split 50:50 between funds for the hall and prizes (in money) for members.

Prizes are determined by a draw of numbers on 5 occasions (once each in August, September, October, November and December) during an event held in the hall. Prizes are mostly £10 but in December several larger prizes of £60, £40 and £20 are awarded.

To date we have been running with 200 numbers (this could be increased) but we have some spare due to members leaving the area. If you would like to join or want more information contact me by email or on 320339. The club is run by John and Mary Skea with Andrew providing computing backup.
