Proposed Solar Farm at Pitpointie Consultation

We are just circulating the poster for the drop in consultation events in March for the proposed solar farm at Pitpointie, in case anyone hasn't seen it yet, along with additional consultation information.

Just to note - there are two "pre-application" submissions for this project on Angus Council's website which is a bit confusing. The screening application submitted in December - 24/00766/EIASCR - was submitted with a draft environmental and landscape assessment from the applicant, also containing more detail about the provisional proposal. This is headed applicant's letter. There is a document from Angus Council considering each issue raised and  also confirmation that the provisional detail is sufficient for a Planning Application Notification. Consultation arrangements are also set out.

The Planning Application Notification submitted in January - 25/00012/PAN - is the notification to Angus Council that a full planning application could follow in due course and does not, itself, contain very much detail. However, once validated it triggers a 12 week consultation period during which specified consultation/information events for potentially affected communities, must take place. That is underway at the moment and is detailed in the poster and also in the letter sent to residents within a kilometre of the proposed site.

It is important to note that both these submissions are provisional, are "pre-application" and cannot be formally commented on.  A full planning application, if made, cannot be submitted before April 9th when the 12 week minimum consultation period is concluded. A full planning application may also differ in significant detail from the pre-application submissions although it cannot exceed the boundaries already shown.

A dedicated website with updated information should be going live this coming week at www.auchterhousesolar.co.uk. We don't have the exact date yet. There will also be an online event with a virtual presentation and Q&A session on March 27th at 11.00am.  Details for joining will be on the dedicated website on the morning of the 27th March.

We know that holding the event in Auchterhouse Village Hall is ideally local and convenient but there isn't much off-road parking in the village, as you know. Please park thoughtfully if it is busy.

Thank you,

Auchterhouse Community Council
