Auchterhouse 200 Club
The 200 Club, originally set up by John and Mary Skea, successfully provides funds to support the running of the village hall through the help of members of the community. Management of the fund has recently been taken over by Kellie Smith.
Run as a type of lottery, one number in the club costs £5 per year and members can subscribe to as many numbers as they wish. The total of all subscriptions is split equally between funds for the hall and cash prizes for members, drawn at random.
Money is currently collected by central people in the village before the first draw that takes place in August. However, the option to pay electronically will soon be available.
Draws take place in the last 5 months of the year and the prize breakdown is as follows:
- August, September, October & November – 4 prizes of £10 each, 2 prizes of £5 each
- December – 1 x £60, 1 x £40, 4 x £20, 12 x £10
To date we have been running with 200 numbers but we currently have some spare due to members leaving the area.
