Telephone Box and Defibrillator

Auchterhouse Phonebox & Defibrillator

When BT decided that the Auchterhouse phone box was surplus to requirements the community snapped up the offer to acquire it. With a coat of paint, a couple of minor repairs and new shelves it is now used as a mini library and book, DVD etc exchange. A large map of the area adorns the back wall.

It also houses the community’s defibrillator which is available for all to use in an emergency. There are written instructions in the phone box, but the defibrillator also talks you through what to do when switched on. Annual training and refresher sessions in CPR and defibrillator awareness given by the Dundee Heartstart Discovery team take place in the village hall and are well publicised.
